Meet The Girl From The North Country At The November Art Crawl!

October 19, 2015

Join us in Hatch Show Print’s Haley Gallery for the November First Saturday Art Crawl, on November 7, from 6 to 9 pm. Meet Jon Langford and Jim Sherraden, take in an installation of Jon’s art in the gallery, and hear some live music.

In September, musician and artist Langford visited us in the shop, and worked with master printer Jim Sherraden to create a limited edition monoprint based on the lyrics to Bob Dylan’s “Girl from the North Country,” recorded in Nashville as a duet with Johnny Cash in 1969. Jim and Jon meticulously hand-inked and printed each of the monoprints. You can see a photo of one of the monoprints, as well as more art from Jon, here.

Langford also worked with designer-printer Alex MacAskill to create a poster for the museum’s Dylan, Cash, and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City exhibit. Alex printed the poster on our circa 1900 Miehle Pony, over the course of a week and a half.

Until November 8, we’re hosting Jon Langford’s art in Hatch Show Print’s Haley Gallery. At the First Saturday Art Crawl, we invite you to meet the artist and see the art for yourself. Dazzling details abound in each piece, and in the lives of the pieces’ creators. Jon, a founding member of punk band The Mekons, will be here to talk about his art, and to play some music.
